How ‘Christ Is King’ Became Antisemitic: philosproject.org …“The ‘Christ Is King’ debate has caused a schism on the ideological Right, parallel with neo-isolationism in its leanings toward anti-Zionism. The usage of the phrase ‘Christ Is King’ spiked after October 7th, particularly in conversations surrounding Zionism, Israel, and the Jewish people.” …“Many Christians believe that Jews are cursed for rejecting Christ. Supersessionists particularly believe that the Church supplanted the Jewish people’s covenant with God and are now His chosen people. In the Middle Ages, these beliefs led to antisemitic tropes, such as the Jews being dirty and greedy, resulting in violence against Jewish communities.”
I originally saw a video addressing this on Facebook, but couldn’t find anything on the web – except articles like the one above. Most of them are older…
In the article, it states that there are no examples of Christ being called King except by the Romans who used it to mock Him. Why would they use this phrase to mock Him, if they didn’t know. (Believe it or not, even so-called pagans knew scriptures, even the devil knows scriptures.)
Here are a few examples of Christ being called King of kings:
1 Timothy 6: 15 (1599 Geneva Bible)
Which in due time he shall show, that is blessed and Prince only,
the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Revelation 17: 17
(1599 Geneva Bible)
These shall fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:
for he is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings: and they that are on his side,
called, and chosen, and faithful.
Revelation 19: 16
(1599 Geneva Bible)
And he hath upon his garment, and upon his thigh, a name written,
THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
So, yes, the Bible does call Him King of kings, what the article is trying to do is make those who believe so antisemitic, and give Jews more credit than they deserve.
“Many Christians believe that Jews are cursed for rejecting Christ.” I don’t know if cursed is the correct word. The Bible says that all those who believe in me (meaning Jesus) will be saved.
John 6: 24
(1599 Geneva Bible)
Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word,
and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life,
and shall not come into condemnation, but hath passed from death to life.
John 3: 15-17
(1599 Geneva Bible)
That whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loveth the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world, that he should condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
The Jews believe that they are the Chosen Ones, because of what happened in the Old Testament. Israel is God’s beloved people…but the New Testament says otherwise. You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, died on the cross and rose again… most Jews don’t believe this. They crucified Him, which had to happen, allowing Gentiles (non-Jewish people) into the threshold.
The Jews also believe that they will dominate/rule over all the world. They have been waiting for their messiah to give them the authority. This is why they crucified Christ. They saw him as a fraud.
Despite all of this, God has a plan…
Why, in the US, are Jews given more religious rights or freedoms than others? “(Laws have been passed recently giving special protections to Jews.) Because they’ve been persecuted throughout history? Well, so have Christians – and most other religions. In the US, we’re not supposed to put one religion above another. Everyone has the right to worship or not the way they choose. We all have equal rights! Way back when the first pilgrims stepped foot on this land, they were escaping religious persecution. No one wants that, but to put Judaism above others, to give them special protections, is wrong.
The US was founded on Christian morals. In order to keep our nation strong – or get it back to the way it should be – we need to keep those morals.
