When true speech is silenced by violence, we lose more than a voice—we lose a chance for truth to be heard.

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on a balcony in 1968 for speaking truth, justice, and liberty. On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking his beliefs at Utah Valley University, silenced on a stool just like Dr. King, unable to finish his message. (apnews.com)

And here’s the bitter irony: the same people pushing laws to take away our guns are the ones pulling the trigger. They claim disarming the law-abiding will make us safer—yet violence keeps coming from their side.

Gun control doesn’t stop violence. It only stops good people from protecting themselves.

Different men. Different causes. But the same brutal outcome:
When society shuts down strong voices, it doesn’t answer with debate or counterpoints—it answers with bullets.

We must demand better than this. Violence has no place in our public discourse—no matter the beliefs involved.

Rest in power, Charlie Kirk.

And before that, Martin Luther King Jr.—both silenced. But their words live on. Free speech is not a privilege. It is a hard-earned right. It demands our defense.
