Genesis 3:7-11
(1599 Geneva Bible)
Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they [a]knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig tree leaves together, and made themselves [b]breeches.
8 Afterward they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the [c]cool of the day, and the man and his wife [d]hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the Lord God called to the man, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 Who said, I heard thy voice in the garden and was afraid: because I was [e]naked, therefore I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
[a] They began to feel their misery, but they sought not to God for remedy.
[b] Hebrew, things to gird about them to hide their privities.
[c] Or, wind.
[d] The sinful conscience fleeth God’s presence.
[e] His hypocrisy appeareth in that he hid the cause of his nakedness, which was the transgression of God’s commandment.
summary:
The First Sin
Eve, enticed by the tree’s appeal and the promise of wisdom, eats the forbidden fruit and gives some to Adam. Their eyes are opened, and they realize their nakedness, fashioning coverings from fig leaves.
God’s Confrontation
When God arrives in the garden, Adam and Eve hide. God questions them, unveiling their disobedience. Adam blames Eve, and Eve blames the serpent.
Genesis 3: 12-13
(1599 Geneva Bible)
Then the man said, The woman which thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the Lord God said to the woman, Why hast thou done this? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
Genesis Chapter 3 marks a pivotal moment in humanity’s divine narrative—the disobedience of Adam and Eve leading to the original sin, and their subsequent expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The crafty serpent’s successful deception ushers in a sequence of events that fundamentally alters the state of the created world and humanity’s place within it.
The Immediate Consequences
Upon eating the fruit, the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked (Genesis 3:7). This newfound awareness brought shame and fear, leading them to hide from God.
Guard Against Deception
Just as the serpent deceived Eve, we must be vigilant against the lies and distortions of truth in our own lives.
Recognize the Consequences of Sin
Understanding the gravity of Adam and Eve’s disobedience helps us appreciate the seriousness of sin and its impact on our relationship with God.
Seek Redemption Through Christ
Genesis 3:15 points to Jesus as the ultimate solution to sin. Embrace the hope and redemption offered through His sacrifice.
Genesis 3: 15
(1599 Geneva Bible)
I will also put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. He shall break thine head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Cultivate Obedience
Strive to obey God’s commands, recognizing that His instructions are for our good and protection.
hope you have a great day!

Government Shutdown Clock – The White House
…Day 39 – and counting ~ this will be a new part of my posts until the gov opens back up…
Senate to remain in session until shutdown deal is struck, Thune says: the hill …“Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) told reporters on Saturday that senators will remain in session until a deal is unlocked to reopen the government as the shutdown reached Day 39 with members still far from an agreement. When asked if lawmakers will stay in town until a deal is reached, Thune responded in the affirmative. The upper chamber was scheduled to be out of Washington for recess around Veterans Day, but will instead be in session. Thune spoke as the Senate convened for a rare Saturday session after the path toward a deal took multiple turns on Friday.”
