~ Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town: This 53-minute, 1970 animated film may be the most delightful of those sundry, stop-motion animated Christmas perennials that show up on television during the holidays. The clay animation production, boasting a wonderful musical score and art direction that occasionally underscores the flower-power era in which it was born, tells the story of Santa’s origins, in which Kris Kringle decides to get toys into the hands of poor children in gloomy Sombertown. (Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town Quotes)

You knew Christmas was getting close when you saw Santa riding the razor across your tv screen.

Hippity Hop
Hoppity Horse
“Remember bouncing around the yard on a Hoppity Hop or a Hoppity Horse? These toys from the 1960s and ’70s gave kids endless fun. With their bright colors and bouncy designs, Hoppity Hops and Hoppity Horses were the go-to toys for burning off energy and enjoying some good old-fashioned outdoor play.” (clickamericana.com)
these are still available (although not the same as what we had as children), and they make them for adults!

Oh, you have your choice of 20 movies for the car?
When I was a child, I watched the same thing every trip. It was called the window.

The legend of “Stagger Lee” is born: history.com …“On Christmas night 1895, a barroom argument between two men—one named Billy and another named “Stag” Lee—takes place, leading to murder. The killing would inspire an iconic blues song. Murder and mayhem inspired many popular songs over the years, though more often than not, the tales around which such songs revolve tend to be wholly fictional. Johnny Cash never shot a man in Reno, and the events related in such famous story songs as “El Paso” and “I Shot The Sheriff” never actually took place. The same cannot be said, however, about “Stagger Lee”—a song that, while it has drifted from the facts somewhat over the course of its many lives in the last 100-plus years, was indeed inspired by an actual murder that took place late in the evening of December 25, 1895, in a St. Louis, Missouri bar. Billy Lyons died early the next morning.”
