Most won’t read this, but I’m still gonna write it. After a brief text conversation with a therapist friend last night I walked away with these thoughts:
Humans are meaning-makers.
Our brains are wired to resist uncertainty and pain,
so we invent inner “rules” about how life OUGHT to be.
These rules often sound like:
• “It shouldn’t be this hard.”
• “They shouldn’t treat me this way.”
• “I should be further along by now.”
But when we measure reality against those rules, suffering multiplies.
The event itself may be painful, but the demand that life conform to our expectations creates a second, heavier layer of pain. That’s where bitterness, despair, or even paralysis come from.
Where, exactly, is it written that life must not be this way?
It’s not carved into the laws of physics. It’s not promised in Scripture.
It’s not guaranteed by society.
Most of the time, it’s just written in the ink of our assumptions and expectations.
When you actually pause and ask:
“Who said it must not be this way?” you realize the answer is often: no one.
That realization can open the door to acceptance. Not passive resignation,
but the kind of acceptance that frees your energy for what you can do,
instead of burning it up on what you wish weren’t true.
When we stop demanding that things must not be this way, we gain clarity.
Pain becomes information, not injustice. Struggle becomes training ground, not personal attack. And we find a strange kind of freedom…even joy…in facing reality head-on, instead of resenting it for failing to match our script.
It’s not the storm that breaks us.
It’s standing in the middle of it, screaming that storms shouldn’t exist.

The Next Horseman of the Apocalypse: Chelsea Clinton Moving to Take Jerry Nadler’s Seat?: Charisma/The Western Journal …“For all their posturing about “democracy,” Democrats sure do love themselves some nepotism. On Monday, The New York Times reported that Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York has announced his retirement. Thus, the 78-year-old Nadler, first elected to Congress in 1992, will not seek re-election in 2026. Meanwhile, a source told the Jewish Insider that the list of candidates potentially interested in running for Nadler’s seat in New York’s 12th congressional district includes Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”
