Lolita express
~ PS Easy Lyrics ~

“”I wasn’t eating the pizza, Mama… that night the pizza was me.”
”This is more than just a song; it is a voice for the voiceless. “The Pizza Was Me” tells a haunting and emotional story of shattered dreams, broken trust, and the loss of innocence. It sheds light on the dark reality of exploitation, disguised as promises of a better life, bright lights, and “pizza parties.”
“Through these lyrics, we explore the pain of a child who thought they were stepping into a dream, only to find themselves trapped in a nightmare.

Key Themes:
The betrayal of trust by those in power.
The contrast between childhood dreams and harsh reality.
A plea for awareness against human trafficking and exploitation.”
(PS Easy Lyrics)

… I’ve been seeing on social media people commenting how sick it is that there were songs made about Epstein and his island. This song is only a couple months old!

It’s to bring attention to the matter…

Yes, bad things have been and are being exposed through music, movies and literature. There are too many examples to list here. Sometimes the songs I share are those bringing attention to the matter, trying to warn people about what’s really going on. Sometimes I comment on it, sometimes I don’t… letting you decide without my opinion being part of the equation.

There are, however, 2 really movies called Lolita…

1962 and 1997

1962: Lolita

Lolita is a 1962 black comedy-psychological drama film directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the 1955 novel by Vladimir Nabokov. The black-and-white film follows a middle-aged literature professor who develops an infatuation with an adolescent. It stars James Mason as Humbert Humbert, Shelley Winters as Mrs. Haze, Peter Sellers as Quilty, and Sue Lyon (in her film debut) as Dolores “Lolita” Haze.

“The novel was considered “unfilmable” when Kubrick acquired the rights around the time of its U.S. publication. Owing to restrictions imposed by the Hays Code (1934–68), Kubrick and producer James B. Harris were compelled to tone down the pedophilic elements that were central to the novel’s narrative. Sue Lyon was 14 years old at the time filming began.” (wikipedia)

“Based on Vladimir Nabokov’s ‘unfilmable’ novel of the same name, Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita follows the story of the unfortunate Humbert Humbert (James Mason) and his obsession with a 14 year old Dolores ‘Lolita’ Haze (Sue Lyon).

“After a nationwide search, 14 year old Lyon, beat known actress Hayley Mills for the role. The film also stars Academy Award winner Shelley Winters and legendary British character actor Peter Sellers.

“Lolita was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards and won one, with Sue Lyon receiving Most Promising Newcomer.

“Lolita was released by MGM on 13 June 1962.”
(Stanley Kubrick)

the 1955 novel:

Lolita is a 1955 novel written by Russian and American novelist Vladimir Nabokov. The protagonist and narrator is a French literature professor who moves to New England and writes under the pseudonym Humbert Humbert. He details his obsession with and victimization of a 12-year-old girl, Dolores Haze, whom he describes as a “nymphet”. Humbert becomes sexually obsessed with Dolores after becoming her stepfather, and romanticizes his obsession. Privately, he calls her “Lolita”, the Spanish diminutive for Dolores. The novel was written in English, but fear of censorship in the U.S. (where Nabokov lived) and Britain led to it being first published in Paris, France, in 1955 by Olympia Press.” (wikipedia)

the 1997 movie (remake?):

Lolita is a 1997 FrenchAmerican drama movie. It is set in the late 1940s and early 1950s in the United States. It is about a relationship between a man in his forties and a 14 year old girl named Lolita after he marries her mother. Dominique Swain plays Dolores “Lolita” Haze. Jeremy Irons plays Humbert Humbert. Melanie Griffith plays Charlotte Haze. Frank Langella plays Clare Quilty, who lures Lolita away to perform in pornography.

“The film had difficulty finding an American distributor and premiered in Europe before being released in America. The film was eventually picked up in the United States by Showtime, a cable network, before finally being released theatrically by The Samuel Goldwyn Company.” (wikipedia)
