As of writing this post, I am still waiting for repairs to be done on my septic system.

One of the plumbers came over last Wednesday (?) and started working. Nothing is what we thought it was. The distribution box for the system is several feet (maybe twenty?) downhill from the system, with the leach field beyond that.

The distribution box is completely destroyed. What happened? I have no idea.

I have no idea where the leach field is – except that it is in the woods.

I was under the impression that the leach field is where the distribution box is located. I always kept that area clear of new growth (trees), because of this.

So now I wait.

We are barely putting anything into the septic. Thank goodness the kitchen dumps out into the woods!

It’s going to cost me a pretty penny to get this fixed! I’ve already spent a fortune on plumbing/septic repairs, this doesn’t make it any easier.

Fortunately, it’s warm out so we can use the pool to rinse off. Not that we absolutely cannot use the shower or toilet, but with the way things are going… I can’t afford to keep having the septic pumped. We’re using a five gallon bucket/poop bucket… yeah, sexy I know. But we gotta do what we gotta do.

I’m seriously considering putting an outhouse on the property, I just don’t know where to put it. I did buy a camp toilet, but the bucket’s so small it would be best to use it at night, during the winter.

So, the plumber did make it out Tuesday morning. He did a little more digging…

Pretty much the distribution box was destroyed, but the pipes that distributed the grey water were okay. He’s getting in touch with a concrete company to make a new box for me, then will be back to finish.

I really wanted to post this last Friday, June 12, but I was way too stressed. On Saturday, the stress broke and now I’m like “just deal with it”. Which is what I’ve been doing…but now the stress is behind me.

Two guys are out there right now, working on the system.

As of right now, things are what they are. I’m sure there will be another update once this is completed.
